Growing Allentown's manufacturing base.
To understand and position the City of Allentown for participation in the rapidly changing economy, the City, in partnership with the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), initiated the development of a “re-industrialization” strategy.
Working closely with the City and its project advisory committee, Camoin Associates led a team that includes Bergmann Associates (engineering and land use), Thomas P. Miller & Associates (workforce), and Innovation Policyworks (entrepreneurship/incubators). Our team developed adaptive strategies to support and grow the city's existing manufacturing base and position itself to have a role in the significant growth occurring regionally in the warehousing, transportation, and distribution industry. Allentown is a manufacturing city in a manufacturing region and is well suited for a manufacturing future.
