Bethany's Affecting Real Change
Bethany enjoys projects that support communities in achieving long term growth.
- Bethany has supported grant administration for a variety of communities throughout New York State including the City of Mechanicville, Town of Colonie, Village of Northville, City of Oneida, and City of Albany. Bethany is particularly passionate about grant work through the HOME Local Program and New York Main Street that helps communities achieve long term affordable housing and economic vitality goals.
Bethany served as analyst on a number of economic and fiscal impact analysis that quantify impacts for communities related to proposed developments and visitation. Her work has informed decision making for funding and tax abatement through community Industrial Development Agencies. Within the Capital Region, Bethany served as lead analyst for the GymRat Challenge’s annual basketball tournament which considered relocating outside of the region due to lack of funding. Camoin’s impact analysis helped secure a capital grant from Empire State Development to retain the tournament within the Capital Region.
- In October 2018, the City of Lockport was announced as the recipient of $10 Million in state funding for its Downtown Revitalization Initiatives. Camoin worked as part of a larger consultant team, to conduct a market analysis of existing and projected trends within the City of Lockport and surrounding region. Bethany served as Camoin’s Project Manager, leading the analysis, conducting stakeholder interviews, and vetting prospective projects. The consultant team worked with the community to create a Strategic Investment Plan complete with proposed transformative projects which will be submitted to the State of New York for final review and funding approval.
Bethany is passionate about nature and helping others. In her free time, she enjoys helping out at a local animal hospital, hiking, and deep sea fishing.
