Christa Franzi

Christa Ouderkirk Successful economic development initiatives require a holistic interdisciplinary perspective, which is just what Christa brings to the Camoin Associates team. With a developed understanding of the complex inter-relationships between economic development, land use planning, cultural issues, and environmental sustain-ability she has devised economic development and strategic plans that will be financially, environmentally, and socially sustainable for years to come.

Christa has contributed skill, insight, and innovative approaches to some of the firm's most challenging economic planning, market analysis, and fiscal impact studies for clients in both the public and private sector. Her passion is working with rural communities and small cities to address their distinct economic development needs with progressive marketing and planning strategies. From growing up in rural upstate New York, she has personal and professional knowledge of the challenges faced by these communities and the businesses within them.

Prior to joining Camoin Associates, Christa began her professional career as a planner in the New York Capital District where she developed a sound understanding of land use practices and gained extensive experience conducting environmental impact analyses. She holds a Masters in Geography, with a concentration in Natural Resource Planning and Management from Binghamton University where her thesis work included a study of exurban development and its effect on stream morphology in small watersheds. Christa also holds dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Environmental Science and Geography from the SUNY College at Oneonta and is a member of the Association of American Geographers.
