Rob Camoin Elected to Board of Directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) '
Rob Camoin, President of Camoin Associates has been elected to the Board of Directors of IEDC. IEDC is the global leader in supporting the economic development profession. Rob has previously served as the Chair of IEDC's Membership Development Advisory Committee and is a currently Vice Chair of the Awards in Excellence Task Force and member of the organization's Economic Development Research Partners Program (EDRP). Advanced Energy Economics Promotes Energy-Led Economic Development Planning

Camoin Associates, as part of the AWS Truewind team, selected to conduct economic assessment and strategy for future Great Lakes Off Shore Wind Generating Project
Camoin Associates, Inc., as a subcontractor to AWS Truewind, (AWST) was selected by New York Power Authority ("NYPA") to provide economic development related consulting services pertaining to the NYPA's Electric Capacity and Energy from a Great Lakes Offshore Wind (GLOW) Generating Project. Camoin will assist the AWST team with completing a baseline of information on the range of resources and assets (infrastructure, existing manufacturing, labor, research institutions) that exist within the New York's Great Lakes region, and can be utilized to help jumpstart an offshore wind energy industry. The team will also develop an economic impact analysis to measure the impact of creating one or more offshore wind parks in one or more of the Great Lakes. This task also requires the team to gather information from wind turbine component suppliers to understand what conditions need to exist for them to consider expanding their operations and locating a facility in the Great Lakes region. Finally, AWST will provide recommendations on new policies, programs, or incentives that could be offered to increase the probability that the economic development initiatives outlined by the bidders will be realized.
Camoin Associates partners with Policy One Research of Scarborough Maine to complete an R&D Technology Park Market Feasibility Study for the City of Old Town and University of Maine
Camoin Associates through a standing relationship with Jim Damicis, President of Policy One Research, was asked to partner with the firm to complete a market feasibility study for a proposed research and technology park through a partnership between the City of Old Town and the University of Maine. More specifically, the project will perform research and analysis to identify and assess the potential of the research-industrial park to generate demand for development among technology industries and businesses and to determine the targeted technology industries/businesses best suited for the site. In addition, the project team will assess specific site and infrastructure requirements that would be needed to support targeted industry sectors/businesses, conduct a competitive analysis of the site relative to other regional and national offerings and lastly, measure the economic and fiscal impact of future development on the local economy and its various taxing jurisdictions.
Camoin Associates assisting Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) and Franklin County with a funding request to explore County-wide consolidated planning effort
ANCA currently is assisting the Franklin County Board of Legislators to pursue funding to study ways the County and its municipalities can strengthen county-wide planning and support for community planning efforts. The County is seeking a high-priority planning grant under the Local Government Efficiency program administered by the NYS Department of State for the study. The Camoin Associates, under contract with ANCA, is helping to develop the grant application. To start work on the project, a meeting involving interested town and village leaders, county legislators, and representatives from ANCA, the Industrial Development Agency, and Camoin Associates is planned for the evening of February 16 at the Paul Smith's College, Joan Weill Library. Local government support for the effort will help secure the grant, according to State officials.
