Greene County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan ’Äì Camoin Associates led a team of site selection and planning consultants that provided comprehensive economic development planning services to Greene County, New York. The project included economic, cluster and labor market analysis, industrial property and infrastructure inventory, tourism industry assessment and targeted promotion, and business retention and expansion.

Lakes Region, NH Industry Cluster Analysis & Strategic Initiatives ’Äì In preparation for a regional CEDS, the Lakes Region Planning Commission turned to Camoin Associates to analyze the industry composition of the multi-county region in central New Hampshire. Shift-share and Location Quotient (LQ) analysis tools were utilized to identify industries experiencing expansion relative to other regions and the nation. Initiatives were developed based on the industry findings.

Kent County, DE - Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy ’Äì Developing its first ever economic development plan, Kent County Delaware engaged Camoin Associates to lead a team of a site selection and economic development consultants to develop a countywide, ten-year economic development strategy.

Rockland County, NY - Industry Analysis & Business Retention Strategy - To better understand the needs, issues and impact of the businesses comprising Rockland County's dynamic economy, the Rockland Economic Development Corporation (REDC) turned to Camoin Associates to conduct a comprehensive County industry assessment and business retention and expansion survey.

Town of Montgomery, NY - Economic Development Plan - Camoin Associates facilitated an economic development strategic planning process that analyzed the most significant development issues facing the Town and provided detailed recommendations for building infrastructure capacity, identifying ideal property for future industrial development, the revitalization of three hamlets and enhancing recreational and open space preservation to maintain its rural community character.

Dublin, Ohio Commercial District Revitalization Plan ’Äì In an effort to transform their charming historic district into more of a downtown area that would better serve as the City’Äôs commercial and social center, Camoin Associates was commissioned to create an action plan based on detailed retail and office market assessment findings.

Grand Rapids, Michigan - Market Analysis, Branding and Strategy for Three Distinct Neighborhood Commercial Districts ’Äì Based on the unique retail market and demographic makeup of three micro regions within the City of Grand Rapids, Camoin Associates developed tailored branding concepts and revitalization action plans and neighborhood business recruitment strategies.

City of Painesville, Ohio - Economic Development & Marketing Strategy ’Äì Prior to initiating an update to the City’Äôs Comprehensive Plan, and in light of an announcement that the City’Äôs largest downtown employer would be relocating to a neighboring community, the City of Painesville turned to Camoin Associates to develop an economic development plan based on the findings of a complete commercial market analysis.

Village of Malone - The Town and Village of Malone received a technical assistance grant through the Office of Community Renewal to complete an economic development strategy. Located just 10 miles from the Canadian border in Franklin County, Malone is the only major population center in Franklin County that is outside the bounds of the Adirondack State Park. Malone has experienced gradual but prolonged decline in its manufacturing base and a decline in population. The economic development strategy was completed in two phases and Camoin Associates helped the community to identify a vision and specific action steps they would have to take in order to accomplish their goals of job creation and maintaining their population base.

City of Lockport - Over the last several decades, the City of Lockport has changed dramatically with the decline in manufacturing. Canal-related attractions, however, are beginning to draw visitors to downtown Lockport, reinforcing the continuing role of the canal as a source of economic development opportunity, particularly for the central business district. The City of Lockport utilized the services of Camoin Associates and Wendel Duchscherer Architects and Engineers in order to better define and package this opportunity into a comprehensive plan for downtown redevelopment. Camoin Associates completed a downtown market analysis which included surveying local businesses, assessment of tourism/visitor market share, visitor surveying and the creation of a visitor market profile and marketing plan. The final product included several action items designed to support the recruitment of new and the expansion of existing businesses to the area.

Saranac Lake Region, NY - Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy ’Äì The Saranac Lake region needed assistance in developing a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. Understanding the constraints of this unique Adirondack community, Camoin Associates was engaged to develop an innovative vision to steer the community on a ’Äú21st Century’Äù economic development path. We analyzed business and industry trends to determine the health of the regional economy and identified Adirondack Park-appropriate industry development opportunities which included tourism, bio-science, environmental science, retail and the professional services sectors.

New York State Economic Development Council (NYSEDC) - 2007 NY Loves Bio Initiative - Camoin Associates assisted the 2007 NY Loves Bio organizational and promotional initiative by facilitating a strategic planning session for the NYSEDC. The Bio consortium included economic development officials and bio-industry leaders throughout NYS.

Harriman Research & Technology Park Campus Transition & Implementation Plan - In 2007, the HRTDC issued a Master Developer RFP for the 300-acre Harriman Research and Technology Campus located in Albany, NY. Camoin Associates assisted the HRTDC President with the development of a decision making flow chart necessary to illustrate the complexity of factors and alternatives impacting future development implementation.
