IEDC, NEDA & Camoin Associates Partner To Bring CEcD Curriculum to the Northeast
For Immediate Release - September 13, 2011
A partnership between two economic development associations and a private economic development firm has led to the return of the International Economic Development Council's (IEDC) training curriculum in the Northeast. Both IEDC and the Northeastern Economic Developers Association (NEDA) are non-profit membership organizations dedicated to helping economic developers do their job more effectively and raising the profile of the profession. Camoin Associates is a leading economic development consulting headquartered in Saratoga Springs New York.
IEDC's training courses have become a leading source of education for economic development professionals at all levels throughout the Country. Covering both key topics and specialized issues, the courses are designed to provide a national perspective and solutions with a focus on real life experiences, best practices, and the most current tools used to improve state, regional and local economies. In addition, these courses are eligible for credits towards both IEDC and NEDA Certification.
According to Eric Anderson, Executive Director of the 55 year old NEDA organization, "This partnership was critical in getting easier access for our 450 members to the IEDC training curriculum. IEDC's courses are among the most comprehensive and current economic development training courses in the country and economic developers in the Northeast will now have a much easier time getting the training they need."
IEDC will provide the training program beginning February 13-14, 2012 in Albany, New York with "Entrepreneurial and Small Business Development Strategies". Two additional courses including "Economic Development Strategic Planning" and "Technology-Led Economic Development" are also scheduled for Albany May 17-18 and September 13-14, 2012 respectively.
"IEDC is thrilled to be part of this innovative partnership and the opportunity to work closely with NEDA and Camoin Associates in making these classes a success," stated Jeff Finkle. "We have developed these courses in a manner that brings current economic theory and approaches that will help northeast economic development professionals compete with other regions of the world," according to Finkle.
